Nice job man!
Saved your self 100+ for a service call for sure!
@speedfreaktv thanks! yeah, it was an easy fix too, so i don’t see the point of paying for that.
@rex4x4 wow who knew that my vid would make you that happy! heheh
wwwwhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
You really should use 1/2 inch angle iron. If you had the same problem try angle iron.
Just a suggestion
I agree with jacktd3 on this one. If it breaks again, purchase some angle iron (like the one you have mounted to the ceiling, or just reuse that one) Cut it in half, bolt the garage door opener straight to that, and mount the brackets on the ceiling studs using a stud finder. Run them so they point from the door to the back wall of the garage. No offense, but the fix you just did will probably break again because the single strap metal is flimsy, angle iron is reinforced by itself ( L- shape).
@NicksGarageDoor cool thanks, i apreciate the suggestion. it’s has been a while since i installed the openers and i think i tried angle iron but something was just not working out. and i know as well the studs are 18″ apart and no way of installing it on the studs and i don’t trust ancors, so i went wtith the other method. but if i have to do this all over again i think ill figure out a way of using the agle iron, it would be a pain in the ass to do all that work every couple of years!
They sell angle iron in like 4 foot lengths for around $10. Then all you really need are lag bolts for the joists. I Wouldn’t trust anchors with a garage door opener either.
Hey, it’s been a few months, how has this worked?
*how well has this worked since you fixed it? Sorry, I’m really tired.
@NicksGarageDoor haha no problem, So far no problems at all and everything is secure. not sure what else to say about it right now, im on the tired side as well.
Allright, cool. Hey, what’s the name of the song you used in this?
@NicksGarageDoor there is no name for this, as i had created it using magix music maker.
can you make a vid of the opener running with out music and high speed please thanks
@Liftmaster1280 sure i can do that, but i just want to make sure i know what you mean first. you want me to take a video of the opener itself and then speed up the video? i might actualy still have the original video
@superdelsol no what i mean is open and close it normaly and film it running. but normaly not high speed.
@Liftmaster1280 yeah i totaly read that the wrong way, yeah i can do that, im hoping to get that done by tonight for ya. i may just make it a private video and send you the link
@superdelsol cool and what time?
@Liftmaster1280 not too sure about the time but hopefuly before 9pm est
@superdelsol
Props! It sounds good!
